Section 01-007  Compulsory Attendance
The USD 263 Board of Education shall enforce the compulsory attendance law.  This law makes it the duty of every parent or guardian having control over, or charge of, any child who is enrolled in school and is under the age of 18 years to require such child to attend a public school continuously for such periods of time as the school in the district in which the child resides is in session.

Kansas law requires regular school attendance.  It is the intent of the Mulvane Public Schools to comply with all student attendance laws of the State of Kansas .  It shall be the responsibility of the principals in each attendance center to develop and administer procedures that promote regular school attendance for all students attending the Mulvane Public Schools.  Such procedures shall be filed with the Clerk of the Board, and shall have the authority of policy approved by the Board of Education of USD 263.
