Section 02-005  Appointment of Superintendent
The Superintendent shall be appointed in January.  When the services of the Superintendent are satisfactory to the Board, the Superintendent shall be appointed for a term of not to exceed 2 years, with the term of the subsequent contract to become effective on July 1 of the year in which the current contract expires.  The Superintendent shall have charge and control of the public schools of the district, subject to the orders, rules, regulations, and by-laws of the Board.  The Superintendent shall receive for his/her services such compensation as the Board may allow, with both the time of establishment of the compensation and the amount of compensation to be subject to the discretion of the Board of Education.    The Superintendent's contract shall be on a 12 month basis, and shall be negotiated each year.  The Superintendent shall receive 30 days paid vacation annually.
