Section 02-006  Appointment of Assistant Superintendent
The Assistant Superintendent of USD 263 shall be appointed annually in February, subject to the recommendation of the Superintendent and approval by the Board of Education.  The Assistant Superintendent’s contract shall be on a 12 month basis, with each subsequent term beginning annually in July.  The Assistant Superintendent’s contract shall be negotiated annually.  The Assistant Superintendent shall receive as needed, recommended and approved by the board of education for his/her services such compensation as the Board may allow, with both the time of determination of the compensation and the amount of compensation to be subject to the discretion of the Board of Education.  The Assistant Superintendent shall be directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools.  Duties of the Assistant Superintendent shall be hereinafter described.
