Section 02-008  Appointment of Board Clerk
A Clerk of the Board shall be appointed annually.  The Clerk shall be bonded in an amount to be determined annually by the Board. The cost shall be defrayed by the Board.  The Clerk shall receive compensation as fixed by the Board.  The Clerk shall not be a member of the Board and shall not be the same person as the Superintendent of Schools or the Treasurer.  The Clerk shall keep an accurate journal of the proceedings of the Board of Education.  The Clerk shall have the care and custody of the records, books, and documents of the Board.  The Clerk shall prepare and submit to or for the Board all reports required of him/her by the Board and by law.  The Board may appoint a Deputy Clerk of the Board, who shall have the specific duty of taking minutes at meetings of the Board of Education in the absence of the Board Clerk.
