Section
07-005 Continuing Contract,
Termination or Non-Renewal
In
accordance with the continuing contract law, the USD 263 Board of Education
shall give
written notice,
through the Superintendent, by May 1, to any teacher whom it does not wish
to re-employ.
The termination or non-renewal of teachers for valid cause shall be
conducted in accordance with
Kansas
law. The due process procedures as
set forth in KSA
72-5436-5446 shall be strictly adhered to in all cases. (Moved from policy
07-006) Under
the
same law, teachers
shall notify the Board of Education in writing, through the
Superintendent, on or before May 15 or, if applicable, not later than 15 days
after final action
is taken by the
Board of Education upon termination of professional negotiation absent a
binding agreement
under article 54 of chapter 72 of Kansas Statutes Annotated, whichever is
the later date, of
their intent not to remain in the system.
