Section 07-018  Teacher Absence
Only in emergencies should a teacher leave a classroom while a class is in session.  If such an emergency does arise, the teacher should notify the Principal so that supervision may be provided during the absence.  Teachers shall not leave the school grounds for any reason during the school day without first securing permission from the Principal.  When teachers find it necessary to be absent from duty due to sickness or unavoidable cause, they shall notify the Principal at the earliest possible time so that a substitute may be obtained by the Principal.  Permission to be absent from work for any reason other than illness must be approved by the building Principal or the Superintendent in the Principals absence.
