Section 07-032  Professional Organizations
The Board of Education  does not require that it be mandatory for USD 263 teachers to belong to local, state, or national teachers' organizations; this decision shall be made by the teachers on an individual basis.  However, the Board is aware that all professions have a certain obligation to their group, and the Board therefore encourages teacher participation in such organizations.  All dues to such organizations shall be borne by the teacher.  The Board shall grant release time and furnish substitutes for teachers to attend teacher organization meetings, as per the guidelines established by the USD 263 negotiated agreement.  Attendance at such meetings shall be approved in advance by both the building Principal and the Superintendent.
