Section 09-009  Release of Bus Riding Students to Individuals
In the event that a request be made personally by a parent or other individual to remove a student from a USD 263 school bus prior to the student being delivered to his or her own home, the following guidelines shall be followed:

A.        The student may be released to the custody of the parent or the individual making the request, providing the bus driver knows the parent or individual personally or has personal knowledge of the individual which would indicate the request to be legitimate.

B.         In cases where the bus driver does not have personal knowledge of the parent or individual making the request for custody of the student, the student shall not be released until the building Principal has been consulted. The building Principal shall have final authority in all such questionable cases of the release of students to parents or other individuals.
