Section 10-032
Bullying
Bullying of others within the school setting is
not allowed in any form, including electronic means, on or while using school
property, in a school vehicle or at a school-sponsored activity or event.
School administration and staff are charged with
taking the means necessary to develop a school climate that eliminates
bullying. The building administration is
to formulate appropriate discipline procedures that will assist in curbing this
type of behavior. Students who have bullied others may be subject to
disciplinary action, up to and including suspension and expulsion and if
appropriate, shall be reported to local law enforcement. Staff members who
bully others may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including
suspension pending a hearing and/or termination and if appropriate, shall be
reported to local law enforcement.
Persons who are the recipients of bullying
should inform the school's administration or other school officials about the
bullying so that it can be stopped. School staff should respond appropriately
to stop bullying behaviors. Complaints of bullying will be handled pursuant to
the procedures set forth in the district’s racial and
sexual harassment policies.
