Section 10-036.  Drug/Alcohol Abuse Policy
This policy is adopted in the belief that the use of illicit drugs and the unlawful possession and use of alcohol and tobacco is illegal and harmful to the students of USD 263 schools.  In order to ensure the highest possible standards of learning as well as the safety, health, and well-being of all students, USD 263 endorses a substance abuse prevention policy which will aid all students in abstaining from the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.  The district supports early intervention when student use is detected, taking corrective disciplinary action when necessary, and providing informational support for students.

Information to students and parents about curriculum and programs will be available in each district building.  An annual survey will be administered to students for program evaluation purposes.  All students will be subject to discipline procedures and involvement of law-enforcement as outlined in building handbooks.
