Use media, techniques, and processes, analyze what makes them useful for helping express and communicate their ideas. (1.1)
 
-The students will demonstrate an understanding of the chosen medium by: (1.1.1)
a. creating a drawing that applies contour techniques as well as explores methods for creating values in drawings.
b. creating a design using a selected criteria.
c. composing a painting incorporating information over color theory.
d. creating a three-dimensional project utilizing fiber or clay that incorporates specific techniques.
e. creating a drawing displaying an illusion of depth using perspective.
-The students will demonstrate safe control, and maintenance of tools and media. (1.1.3)
a. discussing and identifying safe ways to handle tools and supplies.
-The students will identify problems encountered while making art and develop possible solutions. (1.1.4)
