I. How will students conceive, interpret, and create works of visual art that demonstrate how to communicate their ideas?
 
1. Apply media, techniques, and processes with sufficient skills, confidence, and sensitivity that student's intentions are carried out in their artwork.
2. Conceive, interpret, and create works of visual art that demonstrates an understanding of how the communication of their ideas relate to the media, techniques, and processes they use.
 
(1.1.2) Analyze the effective use of media, techniques, and processes in relation to ideas communicated so as to utilize texture, patterns, and light and dark.
(1.2.2) Analyze the effective use of media, techniques, and processes in relationship to ideas communicated.
(1.2) Defend/debate the personal use of specific media, techniques, and processes and how they contribute to the communication of ideas, feelings, and experiences by utilizing projects that utilize color schemes and light and dark contrasts. 
 
 
II. How will students use their knowledge of structures and functions?
 
1. Create artworks that use organizational principles and elements to solve specific visual arts problems.
 
(2.1.1) Interpret how the selection and manipulation of elements and principles of design and other concepts convey political, societal, economical, environmental, etc. issues in various works of art by discussing and viewing various works of art.
(2.2.5) Synthesize and apply elements and principles of design in non-conventional ways of application to produce unified and meaningful works of art by analyzing and comparing elements and principles of art.

3. Respond to various interpretations of visual works of art.
 
(3.3.1) Analyze the artistic use of subject matter, symbols, and ideas in communicating the artistic intent by incorporating symbolism and evaluating its use.

3. Differentiate relationship of artworks by analysis and debate.
