Booster Club Minutes
For March 5, 2008
President Lori Bell called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes from the February meeting were read and approved with no corrections. Those present were Lori Bell, Kim McGuire, Shelley Locke, Janice Pfeiffer, Kathy Rogers, and Jo Rivera.
The treasurer’s report was given. We have $7265.52 in our account. We made $485 from our Chili feed and $46 from our clothing.
Under Old Business, Basketball Chili feed was discussed. It was noted that it was much easier to do without having the concession stand to do at the same time. So, next year we will look at scheduling these on opposite times.
During teacher conferences, Booster Club will provide pizza on Monday night along with donated salads and desserts.
There was no report for Booster Club By-Laws/Responsibilities for each Officer.
We looked at scholarship form and approved it. Kathy and Jo are in charge of scholarships and Kim will help get people to score the essays. (Note—Carla asked Kathleen Cowin and she agreed. Kim called Cathy Mason and she also agreed.)
Under New Business, Spring Tailgate was discussed and the early date on March 27th was discussed. Lori said that she would look for someone to be in charge. Carla and Jo volunteered to help.
(Note—It was changed due to time constraints through e-mail so April 10th will be the new date and JV players will be either fed when they return or they will be fed during the Track Tailgate.)
Also, under New Business, Spring Play will be held on April 25th and April 26th. We need to find someone to be in charge of this event.
Track tailgate will be held on May 2nd, Kim McGuire, Paula Hansen, and Shelley Locke have agreed to be in charge of this event.
Teacher/Coach requests were the following: We gave Dave Fennewald and David Kraft $25 each for meals for the Shrine Bowl. We gave $40 for Booth Rental for Old Settlers. Later in the week, we approved via e-mail $200 for Wrestling Banquet Meal for Rick Langerot.
Freshman Orientation was discussed and date was Tuesday, March 25th. Lori Bell and Carla Gilbert agreed to attend this event and represent Booster Club.
Election of Officers for 2008-2009 was discussed. The 3-tier membership was discussed and all agreed that we liked it.
Next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:00 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 7:55.
