District

Survey Information Shared

A brunch was hosted in the District Office by the District Administrators and Counselors on April 4th to inform community leaders of the results from the Kansas Communities that Care Survey and the plans USD 263 is developing to address drug and violence prevention and intervention in our schools.  A new curriculum (Lions Quest) developed for Kindergarten through High School students is being implemented next school year.  It is a comprehensive, research based curriculum that unites educators, families and the community in developing essential life skills, character development, positive drug and alcohol prevention, and service-learning for our youth.

Focus groups are now being formed to discuss and lay the foundation to involve the community and our students’ families in this initiative.  If you are interested in being a member of these groups or would like for your community organization to have a presentation on the results of the Kansas Communities the Care survey and Lions Quest, please call Joyce Harting at 777-1102.
