Mr. Townsend winner of "Stuck for a Buck"

MGS Students, Families, and Staff collected over $2400.00 for Pennies for Patients

CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to all MGS students and their families for making our first Pennies for Patients campaign a success!

MGS participated in a campaign April 10 -25 to raise funds for blood cancer research and services for patients.  Students and staff made a big difference one penny at a time.  Following are five activities that took place during these fun filled fund raising days.

          Daily Pennies Fact of the Day shared during morning announcement.

          Hat Day: for $1.00 students and staff wore hats all day.

          Staff Jean Week: for $10.00 staff members purchased an orange ribbon which   they wore with blue jeans all week.

          Relentless Wrist Bands: Leadership group students sold red “Relentless” wrist bands for $2.00.

Stuck for a Buck: students “voted” with money (one penny = one vote) for the staff member they wanted to see STUCK (taped) to the wall during lunch.  Winner, 5th grade teacher Jason Townsend was taped to the wall with 180 yards of industrial strength duct tape. Runner-up, Raquel Charbonneau 

        

Mrs. Entwisle's students third grade class earned the most money and won a pizza party for collecting $241.00.
