MGS Buddy Bench Ready for Playground
The MGS Buddy Bench that was made by our talented MHS carpentry students is painted and ready to be installed on the MGS Playground. As you can see from the photos, the Tauer/Adamson school family students put their love into the bench as they painted and stamped their hand prints in our school colors! This Buddy Bench will be a legacy on the MGS Playground for years to come. We look forward to seeing all the friendships that are fostered during recess because of the presence of this buddy bench. A big thanks goes to our MHS Woods Department, our School Family Leaders that work with our students every Monday morning, and for the students who worked hard to create a bench to help eliminate loneliness at recess.
This was an awesome example of teamwork…MHS Carpentry students invested their time to build and complete the wood bench…Arrangements were made for the carpentry students to present the bench to the Tauer/Adamson school family students in March…Students from these two school families put in their labor to place the finishing touches on the bench…and our maintenance staff will be securing the bench on our playground, where it will be used on a daily basis while school is in session. What an example of how as a “family”—a group of high school students, a teacher and a school family leader, grade school students, and maintenance staff—can work together to make something pretty special happen!
