This is my third year of teaching fifth grade after teaching third grade for eleven years here at Mulvane Grade School. The opportunity to teach Social Studies all day has been challenging and rewarding. Social Studies has always been one of my favorite subjects and having the chance to concentrate on the fifth grade Social Studies curriculum is great. I have found that fifth grade students have considerable knowledge of what is going on in the world so studying history, geography, economics and conservation has a lot of meaning to them. Especially when I remind them that they are the future leaders who can make positive changes in their world. I share teaching Social Studies with Mrs. Headrick.She and I work hard to create activities and investigations that keep our students involved and curious.
