The winter season is upon us, and with it comes the possibility of inclement weather affecting school opening. We understand that our decision to open or close schools in bad weather has a big impact on families. The safety and security of our students and staff is our highest priority. Is this year’s flu vaccine effective? According to the CDC: So far this season, influenza A (H3N2) viruses have been most common. Over half of H3N2 viruses analyzed this season are different from the H3N2 virus in this season’s flu vaccine. This may reduce how well the vaccine protects against those H3N2 viruses.
