Mulvane High School Nurse
As most of you know by now, my name is Sue Heersche and I am new this year to Mulvane High School as the School Nurse. I am not new to Mulvane, Kansas. I have been in Mulvane since my husband, Don, and I were married 38 years ago. Don has been in Mulvane all his life and even attended Munson Primary school as a child.
I graduated from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas with a Bachelors degree in Nursing in 1970. As a new nurse, I started my career at the old St. Joseph hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Since that time, I have held several interesting positions as a nurse. I have worked in a Doctor's office, Acute care, Emergency Room, Surgery, Home Health and also spent a year at the Robert J. Dole VA hospital in Wichita as a Unit Manager.
As my career progressed, I became bored and decided to go back to school to pursue a Masters degree in Nursing. As a non-traditional student, I went back to college after 33 years. That was a shock!! However, I adjusted quickly and obtained a Masters in Nursing Administration from Wichita State University in 2004. I love school and I'm thinking about returning for another degree.
If you have concerns about your child or your child has a medical condition that we need to discuss please feel free to give me a call at any time. We are here to make this a successful school year for all of us.
