A Community Working to Support and Protect Our Youth

Purpose: To look at the substance abuse issues affecting the youth of Mulvane and to develop goals and interventions to reduce the abuse and protect our teens.

The Kansas Department of Transportation offers the 1-866-MUST-B-21 hotline to help curb underage drinking. The toll-free tip line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is available for citizens to anonymously report parties involving underage drinking, plans to purchase alcohol for underage persons, and retailers who sell alcohol to underage persons.

If you know somebody who would like to receive future Alliance emails, please have them email mulvane.prevention@gmail.com with a request to be added to the list.

We recognize that many church groups meet on Wednesday evenings as well, and we hope this provides enough notice for you to incorporate the MAPS meeting into your schedule if possible.

MULVANE PARENT NETWORK

The MAPS Family Work Group is establishing a Mulvane Parent Network to help parents communicate and monitor our youth. Please find attached an introductory letter that explains the Parent Network and the sign-up sheet. They do not have to be part of MAPS to be part of the Parent Network, (although they are certainly welcome to get involved in MAPS!)

Thanks to the Family Work Group for initiating and administering this great project.
