W.D. Munson has 400+ students in Pre-K through Grade 2. There are 2 sections of 1/2 day 4yr old preschool program, 3 sections of 1/2 day Early Childhood, 3 sections of 1/2 day Kindergarten, 5 sections of all day Kindergarten, 7 sections of 1st grade and 7 sections of 2nd grade. Our average class size is 20 and we maintain a strong academic program in the areas of language arts, math, science, social studies and health. Students also receive instruction in music, physical education, art and library. Also there are programs available in Title I reading and math, resource room, speech,counseling and computer lab. Our second grade students are given the Bader Reading Diagnostic Test at the beginning of the year and again at the end of the year. They also take the NWEA test of language arts, reading and math at the beginning and at the end of the year. As we are increasingly aware of the accountability of school and student progress, these testing processes are very important to the documentation of our efforts as teachers and supporters of the learning environment.
