Welcome To Kindergarten!

My name is Amy Endres. This is my Fifth year to teach in Mulvane, my thirteenth year overall. I graduated from Wichita State University and I am currently have 22 hours towards my Masters in Early Childhood Education.  I have previously taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Sixth Grade Spanish and English as a Second Language. My husband Steve is a Mulvane native and we have two children: Molli, a fourth grader, Rhett, a sixth grader and are due to have a little boy in mid-October.

I absolutely love this community and feel Munson Primary is an amazing school! This year we will have lots of fun and learning!

Please look for your child’s Take Home Folder to start coming home on Monday August 15. This folder will have homework, notes or any important papers.  Please check this folder nightlyJ

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns. My school email is aendres@usd263.org. I can access my email at home and school.  You may also call Munson @ 777-0151.

I am looking forward to a great year!

Mrs. Endres

About Our Classroom…..

Our school hours are 7:55-11:12. You can bring your child as early as 7:35 if he/she will be eating breakfast at school. If your child does not eat breakfast he/she may arrive as early as 7:50. Please bring your child to the gym; each teacher has an assigned place for our students to sit. We will walk out the front doors at the end of the day; you can pick-up your child from me out front.

  • ALL visitors that come to school during school hours will need to ring the bell out front to be let in and then sign in at the office. Your child’s safety is very important to us!

  • TAKE HOME FOLDERS: Each night your child will bring home his/her folder.  School notes, completed papers, homework and teacher-parent communication forms will be in the folder.  There is also a Monthly calendar attached, each day your child will “dot” his/her behavior color on the calendar. Please sign or initial the behavior dot each day.

  • HOMEWORK: I will send homework once or twice a week.  Homework is not required but highly encouraged. Each time a homework sheet is returned your child will earn a homework star on his/her “homework sheet”.  Once the homework sheet is full your child will choose from our treasure chest. Homework should not take more than 10-15 minutes. I will notate homework with a X____________ for you to sign.
  • CURRICULUM:  We use Scott Foresman Reading and Math, McGraw Hill Social Studies, Pathways Phonemic Awareness, Four Square Writing, Zaner-Bloser Handwriting, and Foss Science.
  • SPECIALS: We have Library on Tuesday with Mrs. White. We have Art with Mrs. Kraft on Friday (you may want to consider this when dressing your child), we have P.E with Mrs. Williams on Monday and Thursday (please make sure your child wears tennis shoes those days), and we have Music with Mr. Dean on Tuesday and Friday.
  • BIRTHDAY TREATS: Each child may bring in special treats on their birthday. Just let me know ahead of time the day you want to celebrate.  I will pass out party invitations ONLY if there is enough for every child in the class.
  • VOLUNTEERS: I love to have help in the classroom. If you are interested just let me know.
