Standard of Excellence Announcement
USD 263 students have again achieved the Standard of Excellence at the following grades on the Kansas State Reading Assessments. Grades 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8th received the grade level Standard of Excellence in Reading. In addition, Mulvane Middle School and Mulvane High School received the Building level Standard of Excellence in Reading. (note: Kansas High Schools ONLY receive building wide Standard of Excellence Awards not grade level awards because only one grade level is used as a cohort group for assessment evaluation.)
Mulvane High School and Mulvane Academy achieved the Building wide Standard of Excellence in Math. Also, Mulvane Middle School 7th graders received the grade level Standard of Excellence in Math.
These achievement awards are based on the Spring 2008 Kansas State Assessment results. A formula is applied to the percentage of students in each performance category which results in the recognition of those grade levels schools who show that the majority of their students are achieving at the higher levels of “exceeding standards” and “exemplary”.
