Mulvane has been my community for 22 years where our daughters Khristina Kennedy Myers and Sarah Kennedy have benefited from excellent educational experiences from USD 263 that lead to receiving their degrees from KSU and Pitt State. Due to this level of professional expertise my hope is for all our grandchildren to benefit educationally from the Mulvane School District.
I share often that I have the very best job in the whole world because I get to be with children throughout the entire day and help enhance many positive relationships and skills. When a child feels safe, confident, and armed with the social skills to respond appropriately with his/her peers, then educational skills are easier to master. During classroom guidance lessons, I center the activities around bully prevention, drug prevention, and character education. The character words of the month from September to May are friendship, self-control, caring, manners, honesty, respect, effort, responsible, and cooperation. Individual counseling, small group counseling, and progress monitoring is offered in the areas of social skills, divorce, grief, and study skills.
