District Receives $15,079 TI Navigator Grant from LSI

Mr. Craig Bay from LSI presented Board of Education President Steve Fry a check in the amount of $15,079.80 during the November 10th, 2008 Board of Education meeting.

The award from LSI’s Community Action Team will purchase the TI Navigator system which instantly assesses student understanding and provides wireless communication between our students’ TI graphing calculators and the teacher’s. The system promotes a high level of mathematical understanding and allows students the opportunity to visualize the process the teacher is using. Math skills and understanding are crucial in student performance on the State Assessments. This system will further enhance the new mathematics curriculum adopted by the Board of Education this school year.
