Mulvane Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Early Childhood

Parents as Teachers is a fun and free early childhood education program available to anyone who is pregnant or has a child under the age of 5 and lives within the USD 263 school district. Certified Parent Educators partner with families to give children the best possible start in life and to prepare them for school success. We support parents in their role as their children's first and most influential teachers and provide evidence based services to help you understand each stage of your child's growth and development.

We offer:

MONTHLY HOME VISITS or visits in our school playroom. These visits will help you understand each stage of your child's development and gain practical knowledge to encourage learning through play and family interactions. Certified Parent Educators will bring fun activities infused with the most current neuroscience research to support child development in the following areas, Motor Skills, Cognition, Language and Social Emotional Development.

GROUP EVENTS such as our Big Truck Night, Cookie Bookies, I Can Do Gymnastics Class or our Health and Wellness Fair to name a few. Group events provide children with opportunities to interact with other young children while parents connect to share information and gain new insights.

SCREENINGS for developmental stages, vision, hearing, health and social emotional development ensure that each child is able to achieve milestones.

RESOURCES to identify and connect with community programs that may be helpful to you and your family.

Our office is located at Munson Primary School, 1007 Westview Drive; 316-777-0151 Debra Reed
