Welcome to Our Preschool for Four-Year-Olds

Mrs. Hankins, Mrs. Russell, and Students

Welcome to our classroom.  I have a taught nine years.  I have had the opportunity to teach Pre-K, second and first grade.   I have been teaching in the Mulvane district for two years.  This is my first year teaching in the preschool program at Munson.  Last year, I taught first grade.  Teaching has been very rewarding.  I enjoy helping the students of our community learn more about the environment around them.

We have a lot of fun learning in our room.  We use lots of ways to explore and learn about the environment around us.  We are working hard to prepare for kindergarten.  We learn concepts through themes.  We have calendar everyday.  During calendar we work on counting, number recognition, color recognition, shape recognition, patterning, and other skills.  We also have a time for a language activity.  We read a book and answer questions to strengthen comprehension.  We then complete an activity to go along with the book or theme.  At the end of the day, we have hands on centers.  We listen to books, work on math skills and fine motor skills, work together to strengthen our social skills, work on writing and coloring, and more.
