Food Service at Mulvane School District During Covid 19 Disruption

We will be serving items such as chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, cheese quesadillas and other items cold. We have decided for food safety and ease of serving that we will serve all menu items cold. All items have been cooked and cooled in our school kitchens following our standard food safety practices. These items may be eaten by your children cold as they will be served or may be reheated if desired.

New Information 03/24/20: We have received new updated information. We will not be able to offer weekend meals. We are sorry with the change but there had been confusion at the state level that has been corrected.

We will have Meal service as planned M-F with a lunch and breakfast offered to each child between the ages of 1-18 each day.

Meal service during the Covid19 disruption

Dear Parent/Guardian

The Mulvane USD 263 Administration & Food Service Department have been working on plans for providing meals to USD 263 students and area children during the Covid-19 disruption of the regularly scheduled school year. We are working on the plan details, logistics and menus at this time. We plan to start meal service this coming Tuesday March 24th.

We will be offering free meals to all children between the ages of 1-18 under the Summer Food Service Program. The child does not need to be enrolled in the Mulvane USD 263 District. We will be using bus routes, pick up locations and a drive thru site to distribute these meals. Each child will receive a lunch on the day of pickup and a breakfast for the next day.

Current Information

We will have a drive thru pick up site at the Mulvane Grade School 411 Se Louis Blvd. We ask that you enter the bus lane from the south end and will exit out to K-15. Students may also pick up meals at this location on foot. Hours of operation 11 am - 1 pm.
Route locations and estimated times are below as well as route maps.
All children between the ages of 1-18 are allowed a meal at no charge. The child does not need to be a Mulvane USD 263 student.
We are not allowed to distribute meals for any child that is not present at the pickup spot. We are sorry this is a current USDA mandate and not our rule.
All Pickup, grab and go and route sites are non-congregate feeding. We will not have any locations open for on-site feeding.
