Mr. Dave Fennewald, Assistant Principal Mulvane High School

I am very excited about our new school year and my second year in my role where I can support not only our students but our teachers and community also.

A Little about me

I grew up in Minot ND and graduated from Minot State University in 1987 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Physical Education.  My teaching/coaching career began in Colome SD from 1987 - 1992. With a one year stint in those years as an assistant football coach at South Dakota State University.   I moved to the Wichita area to be closer to my parents who moved to Wichita.  I was the Head Football Coach at Mulvane from 1992-2017.   In 2008 I received my Master's Degree in School Leadership from Baker University.  I moved into my role of assistant principal in 2018 and feel beyond blessed in my new role.

I met my wife Kim when I moved to Kansas.  She graduated from Wichita Northwest in 1983.  She is an office worker at Betzen Trenching in Wichita.  How we met is a different but true story, so ask if you want a good laugh.  We have 3 children Kyle, Kolby, and Kortney who all graduated from MHS and were very active in our athletic programs.  Our two daughters-in-law were also MHS grads (Laura and BayLee).  We have 6 grandchildren 5 boys and 1 girl.

What I do at MHS

Though I have many roles at MHS the one I take great pride in trying to attain is to make MHS a place our students and staff want to come and learn and teach at every day.  There is nothing I aspire to do more than to watch others succeed.   I love the opportunity to put smiles on the faces of our students as they learn and to give all of our amazing teachers the tools to do the hard work they do and build the leadership capacity within each teacher.

If there is anything I can help you with at MHS please reach out to me!  As I always say "It's a great day to be a MULVANE WILDCAT.
