October 28, 2022 update

Dear Wildcat Family

Last weeks dance was so fun and we are already starting plans for our next one in December.  Academically students are really settling in and we are seeing their colors shine.

This week's updates and reminders:

  • FBC Parking lot
    • The First Baptist Church across the street from MMS will begin a construction project next week.
    • This will greatly restrict the availability of the parking lot, which may slow drop off/pick up of your students.
    • An FBC  representative informed us that at least three-fourths of the lot will be blocked off.
    • If you are dropping students off it might be a good idea to come up with an alternate plan.
  • MMS News
  • October 31 - Halloween
    • Students may wear their costume to school with some restrictions.
      • No Weapons or toys that simulate/resemble a weapon.
      • No Masks or face coverings, make-up is fully acceptable.
      • Costume cannot impede students or their classmates ability to participate in classroom activities.
        • Example - inflatable costumes will not be allowed in the building during the school day.
      • If a student's costume becomes a distraction to their learning they may be asked to change out of their costume.
  • When morning temperatures drop below 40 degrees or there is inclement weather we will be utilizing the gym for students in the mornings.
    • Students will not be allowed into the building prior to 7:30 (8:30 on Wednesday) as staff is not on duty til that time.
  • Breakfast will be served normally starting at 7:30 (8:30 on Wednesday) all other students will be directed to the main gym area to sit by their assigned grade level.
  • Upcoming Schedule Adjustments
    • November 4 - Pep Assembly, No Advisory in the morning
    • November 11 - Veterans Day Assembly at 2:40, No Advisory in the morning

Enjoy the weekend, and we look forward to the return of students on Monday!!!

Colin Cathey, Principal
