Welcome to Art
I am so excited to be teaching Art this year! I believe that art is in the eye of the beholder. Though I will be teaching your child about the elements of art, about different artists, and about different types of art; my ultimate goal is for them to understand that art is about creating, exploring, trying new things, and enjoying the process along the way. It is my belief that many kids and adults alike, use various forms of art for stress management, enjoyment, and managing emotions. I hope to instill some new "tools in your child's toolbox" for them to use and enjoy throughout their lives.

This is my 18th year in education, and my 12th year in the Mulvane School District. Prior to joining the Mulvane School District, I taught first grade in Derby, Kansas, and Plano, Texas. After taking time off to stay home with my children, I returned to education as a kindergarten teacher here at Munson Primary School, where I taught kindergarten for many years. I made the shift to teaching art several years ago, and I so excited to support kids in this role!
I graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Early Childhood Education.
My husband and I have three children: an adult son, a daughter in college, and a son who is a junior at Mulvane High School.
