Assistant Director of Special Education
Hi, I’m Casey Lucas, my role as the Assistant Director of Special Education is to support special education services district wide, from Pre-K through 12th grade. That includes working alongside our incredible teachers and service providers, collaborating with campus teams, compliance with special education laws, and partnering with families to meet students' individual needs.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education and Special Education, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and an Ed.S. in Special Education Curriculum and Instruction. Over the past 13+ years, I’ve served in early childhood, mixed-abilities classrooms, building-level special education administration, and now district leadership. These experiences have shaped both my passion and approach when it comes to leading with empathy, equity, and high expectations.
While I was born and raised in a small town in Northwest Indiana, Mulvane became home when my family received military orders to relocate to McConnell AFB from MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. I’m grateful to be part of a school community that values connection, inclusion, and doing what’s best for kids.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys. You’ll often find us at local events, school activities, or simply making the most of our time together as a family.
