About Wildcat Academy
Wildcat Academy is a virtual high school of choice operated in cooperation with Mulvane High School.
Who is eligible to apply to attend Wildcat Academy?
- Students must meet specific state and program requirements to apply to attend Wildcat Academy, Grades 9–12.
- Families must reside in the state of Kansas and provide acceptable proof of residency.
- A parent/learning coach must be available during the school day to provide academic support/instruction and agree to our assurances as part of the enrollment process. Both the student and learning coach must attend an on-site orientation as part of the enrollment process.
- Students who have previously attended public, private, or home school are eligible to apply. *Exception – out-of-district students who have been expelled are not eligible.
Who is a good candidate for Wildcat Academy?
Wildcat Academy is an excellent choice for students who are:
- Self-starters
- In good academic standing
- Motivated and driven
- Organized in their daily routines
- Good communicators
- Willing to prioritize school work and meet deadlines
Who might not be a good fit for Wildcat Academy?
This program may not be ideal for students who:
- Frequently turn in assignments late
- Struggle with studying or completing coursework independently
- Are not prepared or engaged in class
- Have a history of poor attendance
- Do not communicate regularly with teachers or advisors
- Are unmotivated or disinterested in school
- Lack support from a parent or learning coach at home
What are the expectations of a student attending Wildcat Academy?
Students enrolled at Wildcat Academy are expected to:
- Engage in school activities for at least 6 hours per day
- Make daily progress in each enrolled course
- Meet virtually with a certified teacher for academic support
- Participate in a weekly virtual grade-level advisory session
What are the enrollment fees for Wildcat Academy Virtual School?
For the 25-26 school year, tentatively, Wildcat Academy enrollment includes the following enrollment fees:
- $75 Textbook Fee
- $25 Technology Fee. Each Wildcat Academy student will receive a Chromebook from USD 263.
- $25 Student Activities Fee. Students in good standing will be allowed to attend Mulvane High School Activities.
